Amidthegeopoliticalandsocialconcernsthatfacedtheworldin2022,S&PGlobalreinforceditscommitmenttodiversity,equityandinclusionthroughourvalues,ourwordsandmostimportantly,ouractions.

IamincrediblyproudtointroduceyoutothisinauguraleditionofourDiversity,EquityandInclusion(DEI)Report,whichbuildsonourpriorimpactreportinganddetailsthewaysinwhichwehaveactivatedourpurposetoAccelerateProgressthroughourcommitmenttoDEI.

Webelievethatdiversityfuelscreativeinsights,equityunlocksopportunity,andinclusiondrivesgrowthandinnovation.AdvancingDEIisakeycomponentofourambitiontopowerglobalmarkets.Itmeansdrivinginclusioninourproductsandforourcustomersandstakeholders,anditincludespromotingequityforpeopleandcommunities.

OurPeopleFirstphilosophyunderpinsourglobalculture.Weenableourpeoplethroughprogressivepoliciesandpractices,aholisticsuiteofbenefitsandphilanthropicprogramsthatsupportcommunityengagement.

Sooften,it’sourPeopleResourceGroups(PRGs)

aroundtheworld,ourcommunitiesofinclusion,thatareseeingtheneeds,advocatingforchangeandofferingsolutions.Whetherit’srecommendingaccessibledesignfeaturesinourmarketofferingsoradvocatingforgreaterunderstandingandactiononhumanrights,ourcolleaguesliveandbreathePeopleFirst.

Thiscultureofcare,andourcorevaluesofintegrity,partnershipanddiscovery,serveduswellaswecompletedoursuccessfulmergerwithIHSMarkitinFebruary2022.

Ourexpandedorganizationhasbroughtnewperspectivesandprogrammingforgreaterimpact.TailoredDEIapproachesanddedicatedsupportforeverybusinessstrengthenourenterprise-wideDEIstrategyandcreateglobalmomentum.

AsChiefPurposeOfficer,Iworkwithleadersacrossthebusiness,alongwithmyteamsinDEI,People,CorporateResponsibility,MarketingandCommunications.WecenterourDEIcommitmentaroundourpeople,partners,communities,andinourbusiness.WeensureprogressbylinkingspecificDEImetricstoourleaders’compensationanddrivingaccountabilityandtransparencythroughincreaseddisclosure.Wecultivateacontinual

feedbackloopforactionandimprovement,includingseekingoutourcolleagues’personalexperiencesrelatedtoinclusionandopportunityatwork.

OurPeopleFirstcultureandcommitmenttomeasurableprogressareacceleratingourmomentumandfuelingourambitiontodomore.Ourbusinessprovidestheessentialdata,analyticsandresearchthatdeliverunparalleledinsightstoourcustomersonsustainability.Inordertocontinueacceleratingprogress,weneedtoembracethemostinspirationalideasandforward-thinkingpracticesfromIndia,theUnitedKingdom,theUnitedStates,thePhilippinesandeveryplaceinbetween.Ihaveneverbeenmoreexcitedaboutwhatwecanachievetogether.

Progress

S&PGlobal’sworktoAccelerateProgressintheworldbringsanopportunitytohavemeaningfulimpactforboththeplanetandourpeople.Tosupportthisessentialcommitment,wehavehavetakenimportantstepstostrengthenoursustainabilityandhumancapitaldisclosures,andtodriveincreasedrepresentationthroughrecruitingpartnershipsandcolleagueengagement.FosteringacultureofDEIisacriticalpriorityattheheartofourstrategicagendaandsupportedbyourboard,CEOandseniorleadershipteam.

FollowingcompletionofourmergerwithIHSMarkitinFebruary2022,webuiltonafoundationoflong-establishedDEIinitiatives,toextendandelevateourprogrammingforthenewlycombinedorganization.Wehaveexpandedourmandatetoincludeadivision-levelandregionalapproachtoDEI.OurDEIvisioncentersonourpeople,customersandcommunities,providinguswithacleardirection,andourmissionoutlinesourphilosophyandstrategy.

WesawthevalueofourapproachasweworkedtointegrateourglobalPeopleResourceGroups(PRGs),whichareessentialtosupportingourinclusiveworkplace.Ourenterprise-levelteamprovidesguidanceandstructure,enablinglocalleaderstoformnewleadershipboards,developstrategicplansandproduceexceptionalprogramming.OurPRGsnowhavemorethan80chaptersdirectedbymorethan600globalandregionalboardleadersworldwideandengage33%ofourglobalworkforce.

Weareexcitedtogofurther,ledbyourdata-driven

approachandourPeopleFirstphilosophy.ThisDEIReportisanimportantstepintakingstockofourDEIefforts,increasingtransparencyonourprogressandhowweplantomoveforward.Wewelcomeyourpartnershipinthiswork.

AboutThisReport

ThisreportcoversS&PGlobalDEImanagementandperformanceacrossitsglobalfootprintin2022,includingIHSMarkitdatafromMarchonward,whenwecompletedourmerger.DemographicdataincludedinthisreportisasofDecember31,2022,unlessotherwisenoted.

S&PGlobal’stotalemployeecountis39,950.However,thisreportexcludesCARFAX,CRISILandTaiwanRatingsCorp.Therefore,demographicdatainthisreportaccountsfor34,206employees.Unlessspecified,dataforpreviousyearsisforS&PGlobalonastand-alonebasispriortothemerger.

AtS&PGlobal,astheworld’sforemostprovideroftransparentandindependentratings,benchmarks,analyticsanddata,weembraceDEIasacriticalbusinessdriverandaresponsibilityownedbyourglobalcolleagues.

Asapurpose-ledcompany,weconcentrateeffortswherewehavethemostopportunitytodriveprogressacrossourpeople,customersandcommunities.Byfocusingonourglobalworkforceandaligningourprioritiesacrossourpartnerengagementsandphilanthropy,westriveformeaningfulprogresstowardsystemicequity.WealsounderstandtheintersectionalitybetweenDEIandrespectforhumanrights,bothinouroperationsandsupplychain.

In2022,webuiltonthestrengthsofournew,combinedcompany,expandingourCorporate

ResponsibilityandDEIteam,reinforcingourcommitmenttoDEIandrefiningourkeyareas

ofimpact.InlinewithourPeopleFirstphilosophy,weconcentratedoureffortsonour

Peoplestrategicpillar,focusingonsocializingthenewDEIstrategyacrossthecombined

organization,tailoringitforeachofthedistinctdivisions,andconsolidatinganddelivering

establishedinitiatives.

Wealsointegratedourgrassrootsandphilanthropicefforts,refiningourfocusareasandstrengtheningourabilitytosupportandhelpadvanceinclusive,resilientcommunitiesinternallyandexternally.

Ourcompany’ssuccessdependsonourpeople.Westrivetocreateanenvironmentthatencouragesourcolleaguesaroundtheworldtofeeladeepsenseofbelonging,wheretheyfeelempoweredtocontributetheiruniqueinsightswithinourcompany,withourcustomersandinourcommunities.Weinvestinourcompanybyinvestinginourpeople.

OurPeopleFirstphilosophyisthefoundationofourDEIstrategy.It’swhatdrivesoureffortstosupportourcolleaguesinreachingtheirfullpotential.Weenablebroadaccesstotraininganddevelopmentandencourageconnectionsthatcanopenthedoortoskillgrowthandadvancement.

DiversityinOurWorkforce

Ourabilitytoattract,retainanddevelopadiverseworkforceiscriticaltoourlong-termstrategy,drivingbusinessgrowthandinnovationandempoweringourpeopletoachievetheirfullpotential.

Webelievethatincreasingdatadisclosureinourexternalreportingdemonstratesourcommitmenttotransparencyandhelpsguideourprogresswithconcretemetrics.OurreportingofglobalgenderandU.S.race/ethnicityrepresentationdataprovidesacomprehensiveviewofourpeopleandusesanintersectionallenswhenanalyzingourworkforce.Inadditionto2021dataforthehistoricalS&PGlobalcompany,thisreportincludesdataacrossour34,000+colleaguesin44countriesasoftheendof2022,followingourmergerwithIHSMarkit.2022datareflectsthemerger’sexpansionofourglobalworkforceby14,655people,includingasignificantincreaseincolleaguesfromtheEMEA(Europe,theMiddleEastandAfrica)region.

This42.8%growthinourworkforceover2021numbersimpactedthetrajectoriesforsomeofourgenderanddiverserepresentationtrends.Thiscombinedviewestablishesanewbaselinefromwhichwewillcontinuetobuild.

Our2022workforcedemographicsindicateoffocusfor2023andbeyond:

priorityareas

–Increasefemalerepresentationglobally,currently38.2%.

–Furtherencourageself-IDcampaignstoincreasedisclosureofLGBTQ+people,thosewithdisabilitiesandveterans,currently1.88%,0.38%and0.80%respectively,andreportgloballywhereverpossible.

–BuildonthemodestgrowthinourU.S.BlackandHispanic/Latinepopulations,currently4.6%and5.7%,respectively.

–AcrossourU.S.criticalroles,furtherextendthegrowthoffemalerepresentationincommercialandin-demandtechnologyroles,currently37.4%and32.1%,respectively.

Wehaveprovided2022dataasasnapshotofthenewlycombinedS&PGlobalbaseline.Wewillcontinuetoprovideinsightonourworkforcedemographicsinfuturereporting.

Werecognizethatequitable,competitive,fairandtransparentcompensationandrewardprogramsimproveoutcomesforourpeople,ourcustomersandourbusiness.Thepayequitypictureisconstantlychangingtoincorporatemovementsintheorganization,suchasacquisitions,divestitures,hiringandpromotions.Wecontinuallyreviewandenhanceourcompensationprogramsandpracticestoensurefairpayforourpeople.Ourpaygapreportinghighlightsdisproportionaterepresentationatdifferentlevelsofsenioritythroughoutthecompany;weremaincommittedtoinvestinginwomentoreducethesegaps.

–Ourmeangenderpaygapis14%,upfrom5.8%in2021.ThisincreaseismainlyduetotheintegrationofhistoricalIHSMarkitpeopleinourworkforce.

–Ourmeangenderbonuspaygapis29%,unchangedfrom2021.

–Inoureffortstoenhancetransparency,wearereportingtheratioofbasicsalaryandremunerationofwomentomenforthefirsttime,whichisat84%.
