文檔簡介

1 越來越多的人從事志愿工作 2 志愿工作對需要幫助的人和社會都有利,對志愿者本身也有好處 3 我認(rèn)為 The volunteering spirit has spread among the Chinese people in recent years, especially among young people. Volunteering is of tremendous benefits to both those in need and society Take the Wenchuan Earthquake as an example. Hundreds of thousands of volunteers play an active role in Wenchuan quake-hit areas. And they contribute daily necessaries, offer medical help and psychological help to the disaster-relief work. Besides, volunteering would be beneficial to the volunteers themselves. Getting involved in volunteering, volunteers will be exposed to a new environment, and they can learn how to work well in a team, how to improve their interpersonal skills and organizational skills, all of which are critical for their professional growth. As a college student, I sincerely hope that everyone would join the volunteering work. It is not only good to our society, but also a chance for us to grow and to learn. 1 大學(xué)畢業(yè)生在就業(yè)時有許多考慮的因素,如待遇、專業(yè)、工作地點 2 對該優(yōu)先考慮的因素持有不同的意見 3 我的看法 On Job-hunting Priorities When a graduate hunts for a job, he has to take the priority issue of a few significant factors into consideration, such as the pay, the specific field, and the location. Graduates give priority to different elements. Some graduates think the pay should take the first place, since they have been spending the money of the family all the time, and its time to do something as the reward to other family members. Besides, a high pay usually means a relatively high position in the company. Some would their major as the No. 1 element, or it would be a big waste of what they have learned in college. Meanwhile, the major chosen for college most of the time reflects their interest and preference. Still others offer the pride of place to the location of the job. They believe big cities like Beijing or Shanghai will provide more opportunities, or a place close to hometown will furnish more convenience between the graduate and his family since most families now have one child only. As to me ,the ideal is the three elements combined together. But when I have to take a choice, l would pick up the best choice close to my family since “ East, west, home is the best” 1.參加高考的人數(shù)有所下降 2.有人認(rèn)為職業(yè)教育更為重要 3.你的看法 Vocational education or college education ? The number of people who take the college entrance examination has been decreasing these years. Some people consider vocational education an advantage to job-hunting, while others argue that a college diploma is more important. ln my opinion, college education is more advisable or most people. 4lFirst, college education is systematic and students can learn a lot in many aspects. Unlike vocational, which always focuses on just one job skill, college education enables students to develop different po-tentials.15lSecond, to obtain a higher degree, such as a masters degree, one has to go through college education to a bachelors degree first. In a society where any job skill may become outdate-ed quickly with the appearance of new technologies, the limitations of vocational education prove even more serious. Only college education can prepare us for future challenges. Ambition 抱負(fù) It is not difficult to imagine a world short of ambition. It would probably be a kinder world: without demands, without abrasions1), without disappointments. People would have time for reflection. Such work as they did would not be for themselves but for the collectivity2). Competition would never enter in. Conflict would be eliminated, tension become a thing of the past. The stress of creation would be at an end. Art would no longer be troubling, but purely celebratory in its functions. Longevity would be increased, for fewer people would die of heart attack or stroke caused by tumultuous3) endeavor. Anxiety would be extinct. Time would stretch on and on, with ambition long departed from the human heart. Ah, how unrelievedly4) boring life would be! There is a strong view that holds that success is a myth, and ambition therefore a sham5). Does this mean that success does not really exist? That achievement is at bottom6) empty? That the efforts of men and women are of no significance alongside the force of movements and events? Now not all success, obviously, is worth esteeming, nor all ambition worth cultivating. Which are and which are not is something one soon enough learns on ones own. But even the most cynical7) secretly admit that success exists; that achievement counts for a great deal; and that the true myth is that the actions of men and women are useless. To believe otherwise is to taken on a point of view that is likely to be deranging8). It is, in its implications, to remove all motives for competence, interest in attainment, and regard for posterity9). We dont choose to be born. We dont choose our parents. We dont choose our historical epoch10), the country of our birth, or the immediate circumstances of our upbringing. We dont, most of us, choose to die; nor do we choose the time or conditions of our death. But within all this realm of choicelessness, we do choose how we shall live: courageously or in cowardice11), honorably or dishonorably, with purpose of in drift. We decide what is important and what is trivial in life. We decide that what makes us significant is either what we do or what we refuse to do. But no matter how indifferent the universe may be to our choices and decisions, these choices and decisions are ours to make. We decide. We choose. And as we decide and choose, so are our lives formed. In the end, forming our own destiny is what ambition is about.
