1、Teaching Plan for Listening Comprehension團(tuán)風(fēng)縣總路咀高級中學(xué) 華雙良IAnalysis of Teaching MaterialThe content of my lesson is about the listening part of the second-round revision of English. And my topic is “Guide to Techniques of Listening”. As listening aims to test students' ability to understand oral En
2、glish in the form of conversations and passages,it requires a great concentration, swift reaction and flexible understanding.The listening materials are orally realistic and communicative, as a result, most of them are based on our daily life, including various common aspects like appearance, jobs,
3、study ,weather ,living surroundings, shopping, travelling, finding the way, doing one's homework, borrowing books, seeing a doctor, making a phone call and so on.II.Teaching Aims:According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus, my teaching aims are the followings:1. Knowledge objects(1
4、)The Ss can get to know the testing points and requirements for listening.(2)The Ss can master certain techniques to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of listening.2. Ability objects(1)To develop the Ssabilities of listening and comprehending.(2)To guide Ss to set up effective listening strateg
5、ies.(3)To train the Ssabilities of studying by themselves.3. Moral objectsBy completing the task, the Ss are expected to increase their interests and set up confidence in skillful listening and comprehending.III.Teaching methods:1. Do some listening practices. Testing words, phrases and sentences by
6、 dictation.2Sorting and induction methods.3Teaching and training methods.IV.Students analysis:Some students do listenings all the time.However, they find it difficult to make remarkable improvements. So, this teaching plan will focus on the techniques to different kinds of listening materials,namely
7、 listening for main idea,judging and inferring, specific information, speakers intention, opinions and attitude. With these techniques applied and further practice, I hope students will make productive progress.V.Learning strategiesWe can do three steps in listenings, such as:pre-listening: Scan the
8、 questions and choices;make some predictions of the content.while-listening: Listen devotedly with a clear aim in mind, grasp the related information, and take notes if necessary.post-listening: judge, choose the right answer.VI.Teaching aids:A blackboard, multi-media, tape recorderVII.Teaching proc

What is the conversation mainly about?(2011.重慶)When the listening materials aim to figure out the main idea or central theme with plenty of supporting details as well as unrelated information. We need to have
13、 sharp ears to locate the topic sentence timely and precisely. When it comes to longer passage, topic sentence often lies at the very first few sentences or the last paragraph.For speech, news, arguments and exposition, topic sentences are more likely to occur at the beginning, while stories usually

23、 bargainIn a hospital: examine, headache, cold and flu, pill, blood pressureIf we need to analyze the time and number, note-taking turns out to be a good method. Sometimes we need write down time with year, month and date or telephone numbers, price, address, names and places, especially when we nee

29、ignal of negative feelings and disagreement. While the structure “I cant agree more”, “That sounds great” give us positive feelings and agreement.Forms of questions:1. 30、)Most importantly, we should try to make some breakthroughs from intonation. As intonation reveals a lot about speakers feeling and attitude, such as joy, surprise, anger and doubt. Generally, rising tone indicates positive emotion like agreement and falling tone indicates negative. For example,I mu
31、st admit I have learned much from the lectures given by Dr. Smith.What did I tell you?The answer “What did I tell you ?”does not really mean the speaker has forgotten what he said, but through the rising tone we can sense the joyful emotion or even pride he shows, thus we can infer he is actually pr
