英國小說家,因塑造了成功的偵探人物――歇洛克·福爾摩斯而成為偵探小說歷史上最重要的作家之一。除此之外他還曾寫過多部其他類型的小說,如科幻、歷史小說、愛情小說、戲劇、詩歌等。道爾的第一部重要作品是發(fā)表在《1887年比頓圣誕年刊》(Beeton'sChristmasAnnualfor1887)的偵探小說《血字的研究》(AStudyinScarlet),該部小說的主角就是之后名聲大噪的歇洛克·福爾摩斯。整理課件

歇洛克·福爾摩斯(SherlockHolmes,又譯作夏洛克·福爾摩斯),是一個(gè)虛構(gòu)的偵探人物,是由19世紀(jì)末的英國偵探小說家阿瑟·柯南·道爾所塑造的一個(gè)才華橫溢的偵探形象。福爾摩斯自己稱自己是一名“咨詢偵探”,也就是說當(dāng)其他私人或官方偵探遇到困難時(shí)常常向他求救。大部分故事都集中講述一些比較困難、需要福爾摩斯出門調(diào)查的案子。福爾摩斯善于通過觀察與演繹法來解決問題??履稀さ罓柺菑淖约阂娏?xí)于愛丁堡皇家醫(yī)院時(shí)一名善于觀察的老師的身上獲得靈感,創(chuàng)造了福爾摩斯這一人物的。
