【Abstract】

ThispapermainlyexploresthetraditionalweddingandfuneralmusiccustomsinShangqiu,HenanProvince.Basedonfieldresearchandacademicliteraturereview,thispaperanalyzesthehistoricalbackground,culturalsignificance,andmusicalcharacteristicsofthetraditionalmusiccustomsinShangqiu.Throughthisstudy,wecangetaglimpseofhowtheancientcustomshavebeencarriedforwardanddevelopedincontemporarysociety.

【Introduction】

Shangqiu,acitylocatedintheeasternpartofHenanProvince,isknownasoneofthecradlesofChinesecivilization.AsanimportanthistoricalandculturalcityinChina,Shangqiuhasalonghistoryoftraditionalmusiccustoms,whicharecloselyrelatedtopeople'sdailylifeandsocialcustoms.Amongthem,theweddingandfuneralmusiccustomsareparticularlyprominent.Theweddingmusicisanessentialpartoftheweddingceremony,andthefuneralmusicisanindispensablepartofthefuneralprocession.

Inthispaper,wewillfocusonthetraditionalweddingandfuneralmusiccustomsinShangqiu.Byanalyzingthehistoricalbackground,culturalsignificance,andmusicalcharacteristicsofthesetraditionalmusiccustoms,wehopetogiveabetterunderstandingoftheculturalheritageinShangqiu.

ThetraditionalweddingandfuneralmusiccustomsinShangqiucanbetracedbacktoancienttimes.AsearlyastheShangandZhoudynasties,variousmusicalinstrumentswereusedinvariousreligioussacrificialceremonies.Later,intheHandynasty,weddingandfuneralcustomsbegantoform.IntheTangdynasty,themusicforthesecustomsbecamemoreprevalentanddeveloped.IntheMingandQingdynasties,withthedevelopmentofsocialeconomy,theweddingandfuneralcustomsbecamemoreelaborate,andthemusicforthesecustomsalsobecamemorediverse.

SincethefoundingofthePeople’sRepublicofChina,withtheimprovementoflivingstandards,weddingandfuneralmusiccustomsinShangqiuhavebeengraduallystandardizedandmodernized.However,someancientcustomsandtraditionshavebeenpreserved,andthetraditionalmusichasalsobeenenrichedanddeveloped.
