Abstract

Withtheincreasingneedforsafetyandhighperformanceinsportsfacilities,synthetictracksurfaceshavebecomeincreasinglypopularinrecentyears.However,thetraditionalsynthetictracksurfacesdonotprovidesufficientdurability,shockabsorption,andstability.Inordertoimprovetheperformanceoftracksurfaces,thedevelopmentofabreathable,drainable,andself-patternedcompositeplastictrackhasbeenofgreatinterest.

Thispaperinvestigatesthedevelopmentofabreathable,drainable,andself-patternedcompositeplastictrack.Thecurrentstudyinvolvedacomprehensiveliteraturereviewoftheexistingtechnologiesandmaterialsusedinsynthetictracksurfaces.Additionally,thispaperfocusesonthedesignanddevelopmentofanewcompositeplastic

tracksystemthataddressesthedrawbacksoftheexistingsynthetictracksurfaces.

Theproposedsystemusesauniquecombinationofplasticandrubbermaterialstoimprovedurabilityandshockabsorption.Theself-patterneddesignofthetrackensuresuniformityandenhancesitsslip-resistanceproperties.Thesystemalsoincorporatesadrainagelayertopreventwateraccumulation,whichimprovesthesafetyandperformanceofthetracksurface.

Theproposedcompositetracksystemisexpectedtoprovidearangeofbenefitstoathletesandfacilities.Theimproveddurability,shockabsorption,andslip-resistancepropertiesofthetracksurfaceswillincreasesafetywhileprovidingmaximumperformance.Additionally,thedrainagelayerwillreducetheriskoffloodingandensurethatthetracksurfaceremainsusableoveranextendedperiodoftime.

Overall,theproposedbreathable,drainable,andself-patternedcompositeplastictrackprovidesapromisingalternativetotraditionalsynthetictracksurfaces.Furtherresearchanddevelopmentarewarrantedtorefinethesystemandoptimizeitsperformanceproperties.

Introduction

Duringtheearlydaysoftrackandfield,naturalsurfacessuchasgrassorcinderweretheprimaryoptionsforsportssurfaces.Thesesurfaceswerechallengingtomaintainandweresusceptibletoweatherconditions,reducingtheirusabilityandperformance.However,advancementsintechnologyandmaterialshaveledtothedevelopmentofsynthetictracksurfaces.Thesesurfacesofferarangeofbenefits,includingdurability,safety,andperformance.However,overtime,thetraditionalsynthetictracksurfacehasdevelopedcertaindrawbacksthatlimititsperformance.

Thetraditionalsynthetictracksurfacesmadeofpolyurethane,rubber,oracombinationofboth,caneasilybecomeslipperywhenwetorunderhightemperaturesandcancauseseriousinjurytoathletes.

Additionally,thesesynthetictracksurfacescanincreaseheat,makingituncomfortableforrunners.Inordertoaddresstheseissues,anewcompositeplastictracksystemhasbeendesigned.

Theproposedsystemisdesignedtoprovideimproveddurability,shockabsorption,andslip-resistancepropertiesforsynthetictracksurfaces.Thenewsystemincorporatesauniquecombinationofplasticandrubbermaterialsthatimprovethedurabilityandperformanceofthetracksurfaces.Additionally,theself-patterneddesignenhancesslip-resistancepropertiesanduniformity.Adrainagelayerisincludedtopreventwateraccumulationonthetracksurface,whichmakesitsaferandmoreusableforathletes.

LiteratureReview

Theearliestsynthetictracksurfacesweremadefrompolyurethane.

Polyurethaneisathermoplasticpolymerthatisknownforitsdurabilityandresistancetowearandtear.However,polyurethanehasseveraldrawbacksthatlimititsperformance.ThesedrawbacksincludeexposuretoUVlightthatcausesfadinganddegradationovertime,difficultyinrepairingandmaintaining,andthecreationoftoxicwastewhendisposedof.

Rubberisanothermaterialthatiscommonlyusedinsynthetictracksurfaces.Rubberisadurablematerialthatislightweightandprovidesgoodslip-resistance.However,rubbersurfacescanbeslipperywhenwetandcancauseinjurytoathletes.Moreover,rubbercanbecomediscoloredovertimeduetoUVexposure.

Thetraditionalsynthetictracksurfaceshavenumerousdrawbacks,mainlyintermsofsafetyandperformance.Inordertoaddresstheseissues,thecompositeplastictrackhasbeendeveloped.Thistrackisdesignedtoenhanceslip-resistance,uniformity,anddurabilitywhileprovidinganevenandconsistentsurfaceforathletes.

MaterialsandMethods

Theproposedcompositeplastictracksystemisdesignedtoenhancethedurability,shock-absorption,slip-resistance,anddrainagepropertiesoftracksurfaces.Thesystemutilizesacombinationofplasticandrubbermaterialsthataredesignedtoaddressthelimitationsoftraditionalsynthetictracksurfaces.

Theplasticmaterialusedinthecompositetracksystemisahigh-densitypolyethylene(HDPE)plastic.TheHDPEplasticishighlydurableandresistanttowearandtear.Theplasticmaterialismixedwithrubbergranulesandacuringagenttoprovideadditionalshockabsorptionandsmoothness.Therubbergranules,usedinthecompositeplastictracksystem,aremadefromrecycledrubberandprovideahigh-qualityslip-resistantsurfaceforathletes.

Theproposedcompositeplastictracksystemoffersseveralbenefitsovertraditionalsynthetictracksurfaces.TheuseoftheHDPEplasticandrubbergranulesprovidesenhanceddurabilityandresistancetowearandtear.Theself-patterneddesigncreatesanevenandconsistentsurfaceforathletes,promotinguniformityinslip-resistance.Thedrainagelayerensuresthatwaterisnotaccumulatedonthetracksurface,whichimprovesthesafetyandfunctionalityofthesurface.

Conclusion

Thetraditionalsynthetictracksurfacesmadefrompolyurethane,rubber,oracombinationofbothcanbeslipperywhenwetorunderhightemperatures,whichcancauseseriousinjurytoathletes.
