Book.Teacher:Zhang Lvbao The First Period.Teaching aims and demands1.Knowledge Objects.Key vocabularies:my,name,is,Im,niceto,meet,you,whats,your,hello,hi.Target language:whats your name?Alan.Hello,Im Mary.Hi,Mary.Im Jim.Nice to meet you.2.Ability Objects.Train Ss listening skill.Train Ss communicative competence using the target language.Teaching key points.Key vocabularyHow to greet peopleHow to introduce yourself.Teaching difficult pointSs Can communicate with others using the key vocabulary and the target language learned in this class.Teaching methods.A game.Pair work.Communicative approach.Teaching aidsA wall chart,a computer,a tape recorder.Teaching procedures.Section A.Step IAll the Ss sing the ABC song together.As the Ss sing.Put up a wall chart with the 26 letters on it.Write numbers 1-26 under the letters.That is to say.One letter stands for a number.They look like this:Aa Bb CcZz 1 2 326Take “dog for example: dog=4+15+7=26Point to the wall chart.help the Ss find:Dd.4,Oo 15,Gg 7, Show the key words on Page 1 on the screen using a computer.Read the words one by one over and over again until the students read them accurately.Step 1a.Hold up my book.Point to an object in the picture.Ask:whats this?Help them answer:Its a clock.Point to another object,practice like above.Write them down in the blank lines next to the picture.Encourage Ss to write down:gold fish, fish, fish bowl,etc.Step 1b.Point out the boxes where Ss will write a number for each conversation. Say:No 1 is done for you.Play the recording for the first time.Ss only listen.Play the recording again.This time Ss listen and write.Write a number in the box next to cach conversation.Step . 1c.Play the recording for the Ss to listen and repeat.Ss practice the conversations in pairs in Activity 1b.Demonstrate the conversations with 3 Ss.Substitue Francisco Mary, Jim and Jenny into my name and the Sss name.Ask the Ss to practice the conversations with his/her classmate using their own names.As the Ss practice,move around the classroom offering help if necessary.When they are competent, have them greet other Ss.When they are well-prepared,invite several pairs to act out their conversations in front of the class.Step .
