The content of my lesson is Senior English for module5 Book6 reading and vocabulary “Frankensteins monster.” Ill be ready to begin this lesson from eight parts.It includes: a

2、nalysis of the teaching material, analysis of the students, teaching aims,teaching methods, the studying methods, the teaching procedure, summary and blackboard designing. First, let me talk about the teaching material.Part 1 Teaching Material. This module is about cloning, and the passage is adapte

3、d from a famous novel,Frankensteins Monster”. Frankenstein is a scientist who created a human being, unfortunately, it is extremely ugly .When Frankenstein refuses to create a wife for him, the monster murders Frankenstein's brother, his best friend, finally, Frankenstein's wife Elizabeth. A

4、t last, the scientist destroys him, but he dies there. At the end of the story, the monster disappears into the ice to end his own life. By studying the article, we will enable the students to understand the story of Frankenstein, at the same time, to develop their interest in science fiction. As is

5、 known to us, reading belongs to the input of the language learning, the input has a great effect on output, such as speaking and writing, therefore it is very important and helpful for the students further learning in the module, however, because of students limited vocabulary and knowledge about t

6、he science fiction topic, it is a little difficult for them to understand the story, especially , hard to understand some difficult sentences. Part 2 The Analysis of The StudentsFirst, the students English knowledge is limited, not to mention their knowledge for English novels. Second, the students

7、seldom have read this kind of science fictions, so they do not have enough imagination to think about the story. At last, the monster in the story has a very complicated character, as a result, the students have great trouble feeling his mood. In a word, the teacher should arrange the students to pr

8、eview the story and collect some information about this kind of novel.Part 3 Teaching AimsAccording to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus and after studying the teaching material, the teaching aims are as follows:1. Knowledge Objects (1) The students can master the usage of the important w

9、ords and expressions.(2) The students can use the subjective mood in the proper situation. (3) The students can understand the content of the lesson, talk about the scientist and the monster, and get their own idea about the development of the story.2. Ability Objects(1) To develop the students abil

10、ities of listening, speaking, reading and writing (2) To guide students to set up effective studying strategies.(3) To improve the students reading ability, especially their skimming and scanning ability, words guessing ability.(4) To train the students abilities of studying by themselves and cooper

11、ating .3. Emotion Objects (1) By completing the task, the students increase their interest in science fiction (2) By discussing the monsters character, the students can feel its kindness and cruelty to help them tell the difference between the kind and the cruel.Part 4 Teaching MethodsIn my opinion,

12、 the main instructional aims of learning English in the middle school is to develop the students abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson Ill mainly use “Communicative” Approach(交際教學(xué)法), “Whole language teaching” (整體語言教學(xué)法)and “

13、Task-based” language teaching (任務(wù)教學(xué)法). That is to say, Ill let the students have a better understanding of the key structure of the story. Meanwhile, Ill make use of the modern electricity teaching equipment and all kinds of teaching means, it can develop the students creativity in learning English.

14、Part 5 Studying Methods: Our students are almost from the countryside. They lack the imagination, what is worse, maybe they never have read science fictions before , so they may be confused by the story, As for the learning methods, they are poor in cooperative learning skills. Some students are not

15、 active in the class, and some students dont like English. Therefore, Ill have students study in a relaxed atmosphere. Students understand the new knowledge in certain degree through the mental process of seeing, hearing, reading, thinking etc. And make preparation for completing the new study task.

16、 In a word, well teach the students to be successful language learners. Part 6 Teaching Procedure:Step 1 Lead-in. and pre-reading( class work, cooperative work) (5min) Purpose of my designing:(1) to catch the students attention about the story(2) to learn to describe peoples appearance(3) to guess t

18、se of this designing: to practise students reading ability and grasp the details of the story, in particular, after the reading, they will have a picture about the monster in their mind, and they can feel the conflict between the monster and his master. This part is the most important of the class,

19、so I divide it into four tasks .Task 1: Skimming (5min)Look through the passage quickly to find out the answers of these questions?(1): Why does the monster terrify people?(2): Why does Frankenstein want to destroy the monster?(3): What did Frankenstein do when the monster came to his bed?(4): Did F
