15、tscantakecollege-levelChineseinthesamewayastheylearnFrench,SpanishandGermanandgaincreditsiftheygetgoodtestresults.Morethan2,500primaryandhighschoolsnowofferAPcoursesintheChineselanguage.CulturalEchoesChinesecharacters,alongwiththeConfucianphilosophy,havealwayshadprofoundinfluenceonHanculturalcircles

18、iencyTesttakenbynonnativespeakers)actsasaspringboardforjobsandpromotionsinlargecorporations.ThenumberofcollegesofferingChineselanguagecoursesintheROKatpresentstandsat347,comparedto20inthe1980s.Bytheyear2007,Chinesecourseswillbetaughtinprimaryandhighschools,accordingtotheROKministerofEducation.Inthec

25、withstories,gamesandanimationsbasedonthe2008Olympics.Inordertoensurethattherearesufficientteacherstomeetthecurrentdemand,theChinesegovernmenthassetuptrainingcenterswhereoverseasteachersofChinesecanattendlectures.Ithasalsolaunchedoverseastrainingcourses.InadditiontodispatchingChineseteachersabroadtot
