They thought violence and mugging were very

9、unlikely. All the people admitted they didnt take enough care of their property. Two admitted leaving their bags unattended at times and one said she often left her mobile phone behind on desks. So far she had been lucky, but she realized not everyone was honest. We were shocked to find four of the

10、five peoplewe interviewed had been robbed over the past year. One had lost a bicycle, one a computer, one a mobile phone and one been pickpocketed of his wallet. In all cases the crimes had been carried out unnoticed and nothing had been recovered.Three quarters of the interviewees said theywould not report small thefts. “It wouldnt achieve anything and would just take a long time filling in forms. It is best to get over it and be more careful in future,” said one. We were very surprised that so many of thepeopl
