In one setting , we may describe someone as a friend ; in another , the label may seem less appropriate . Therefore , people

2、 tend to have a very thin understanding of what friendship really means . To help us understand what friendship really means , we need to review some classical views of friendship . 我們由此可以看出, 傳統(tǒng)的友誼 凝結(jié)在這種友誼關(guān)系中。 Thus,we may see that the traditional idea of friendship is made up of three components: Fr

3、iends must enjoy each other's company; they must be useful to one another; and they must share a commitment to the good. According to the classical views, virtuous friends are bound together, as they recognize each other's moral excellence. To perceive a friend, therefore, is to perceive one

4、self; and to know a friend is to know oneself. Each can be said to provide a mirror in which the other may see himself. Through networks of such virtuous friends, we can develop a shared idea of the good and pursue it together. Friendship of this kind is permanent, because in it are united all the a

5、ttributes that friends ought to possess. 大家普遍承認(rèn)人是社會(huì)性的 “真摯和完美的友誼” As is commonly recognised that humans are social animals.Bonded together in a community, we naturally expect to have friends. As to what friendship is, people have different notions. Some make friends for mutual utility. Once the groun

However, a lot more people long for “ soul pals “ - those who possess virtues and with whom we can go through trials and tribulations together. Such friendships keep us away from greed and violence and encourage us to have the courage

Understanding the ways of a people is essential but this does not mean that you have to give up your own . What happens is that you have developed two patterns of behav

To get over frustrations caused by culture shock, we should try to adapt ourselves to the new environment and get along with our workmates harmoniously. Furthermore, we

20、should never identify a person with the nationality he represents or proceed to hate the person ' s culture only because we don ' t like him.
