lifeand,inthecomingyears,willincreasinglyworkinsupermarkets,clinics,

socialcareandmuchmore.

Theycouldnotbecomingatabettertime.Manyindustriesarefacingashortage

oflabour—thedemandforworkershasrecoveredmuchfasterthanexpectedfrom

thepandemic（疫情）andsomepeoplehavelefttheworkforce（勞動

力）,particularlyinAmerica.Warehousing（）hasgrownrapidlythanksto

thee-conmerce（電子商務(wù)）boom.Robotsarenowindispensable（必不可少的），

Andyetmanypeoplefearthatrobotswilldestroyjobs.Apaperin2013by

economistsatOxfordUniversitywaswidelymisinterpreted（曲解）asmeaning

that47%ofAmericanjobswereatriskofbeingautomated（.

Infact,concernsaboutmassunemploymentareoverblown（過分渲染）.The

insupermarkets,becausetheydisplacehumanworkers.Checkoutstaffwhoretrain

tohelpcustomerspickitemsfromaislesmaywellfindthatdealingwithpeoplein

Inevitably,somepeoplewillbeonthelosingendofchangeevenastherobots

makesocietyasawholebetteroff.Onelessonfromthefreewheeling（自由放縱
